Remarkable Colours, Hidden in Nature

Guildhall Studio is delighted to be presenting a new exhibition of work by John Martyn. The new exhibition, “Remarkable Colours, Hidden in Nature”, explores the depth and range of colours that are there in nature but that we don’t always see at first glance. The images are all taken in and around the ancient woodlands of Suffolk and focus in on the huge variety of tree bark and tree roots to be found in these magical natural environments. Close up, the trees reveal a rich diversity of textures and patterns in their bark and roots, and all lit with intricately woven colours, caught in dappled sunlight or fresh rainfall.
