Walking with Trees

Walking with Trees is a celebration of the beauty and diversity of Suffolk woodland. There are several areas of ancient oak trees and pine forests – Knettishall Heath, Rendlesham Forest, Captain’s Wood, Bradfield Woods, Old Broom amongst others – woodlands that have been carefully managed over the centuries through coppicing and pollarding, to provide wood for building and fuel. The cycle of growth, decay and new growth is constant, marked by the changing seasons, helping to sustain and nurture a myriad world of plants and animals that flourish under the woodland canopy.
